Oh Summer Where Art Thou?

I know it's cliche but, where did the summer go?  I really can't believe that August is halfway over.  And by no means am I complaining about it.  This just puts me closer to D day and further away from the horrible heat waves we have had.

Chris did swim lessons with Cordon and it turned out to be wonderful for him.  Cordon has never been a huge fan of water, even baths were more of a chore for him.  But now you can't get him away from water.  The swim lessons helped him realize that water was a fun thing.  He now asks for a bath every night, and will play until the water is freezing and his fingers are all pruny.

I love Cordons stiff little body

One day I was to lazy to put a swim diaper on Cordon while he was playing in the kiddie pool on the deck.  Talk about super absorbent.

We just discovered this lake only 30 min from us. It doesn't have a beach but the water is the perfect temperature and you have to go pretty far out before it gets to deep.

Two cute boys.

Only 9 weeks left.  Yippee!

I found out that my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins were going to be in D.C for a few days so I called them to tell them I was going to crash their party one day.  It isn't often that I have family nearby so when someone is close I do what I can to see them.  (although Chris' sister just moved to D.C so it will be nice to have family close again)

We are all pouting after having to endure the most boring tour.  This church supposedly had artifacts from the Holy Land.  I guess I missed that part when I was sleep walking.

My parents will be officially done with their mission in Nauvoo this weekend.  Has it really been 18 months?  I think they are really going to miss it but will be glad to get back to their regular lives and grand kids.  My mom said it will be strange for her to wear jeans again.

My dad found a half dead raccoon one day.  He nursed the raccoon back to health and became his adoptive mother.  His name is Melvin and follows my dad everywhere.  I think the rest of the missionary's are going to be bored with out my dad around to entertain them.  How many other Sr. missionary's throw candy bars out their car window to other missionary's walking by.

My mom trying to cool off.

As a final note.  The little switch inside Cordons head that flicked off after he turned one, has now turned back on.  He is suddenly acting like a normal toddler again and doing a mad dash to catch up.  In 2 days he learned 30 words and is now putting 3 words together.  He plays great with other kids and now has no problem exploring new things.  At this point we are doing therapy once a month and will probably stop by the end of the year. I told the therapists that they were not allowed to leave until after the new baby comes just in case cordon doesn't adjust well.

P.S. I do not like the bloggers updates.  I am having a hard time getting my pictures and texts where i want them.
