My parents are currently on a mission for the LDS church in Nauvoo, IL. Nauvoo is a historic city for our church and it has been re-created to look like the mid 1800's when Joseph Smith and the Mormons settled there. It is only a 6 hour drive so we spent Easter weekend with them. I was surprised at how much there was to see and do. There are several things we didn't get to see because we ran out of time.
My parents. You can see the Nauvoo Temple in the back
We took a 10 min covered wagon ride.... not comfortable at all. The Ox by Chris kept trying to jerk his horn away from Chris and was giving him the evil eye. I think he was plotting against us.
Nauvoo Temple with statues of Hyram and Joseph Smith.
Cordon giving kisses to Nana. I love this photo of them.
These horses can pull 2,000 lbs each. Holy smokes! The tour we took with them would have been fun except for the freezing wind, the sickly screaming child next to us and the lady trying to nurse her baby.
My mom giving a tour of the old pharmacy. My parents gave us the backstage tour of all the places and told us great stories that your normally don't get to hear.
All the missionaries participate in the different shows they put on. 200 Sr. citizens + little to no performance background = one entertaining show.
The show even includes a musicale part. Imagine a kindergarten class during music class.
My dad demonstrating how to make a horse shoe. He did good considering it was the 4th one he had ever made.
Cordons first time in a swing. Life is good.

I love all the pictures you look so great, and little Cordon is so adorable!! he looks so happy in that swing.
What a great Easter weekend!!! I loved those pictures of your parents in action (especially your dad singing!). It would be great to see them perform and give tours. Cordon is so adorable in his swing!
